Description
The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall care of the campus facilities and works collaboratively with all staff to ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all parish activities. The Facility Manager organizes, schedules and directs the activities of St. Odilia custodial staff, volunteer resources and contracted resources to ensure that proper maintenance procedures and routines are followed. The Facility Manager works with the Volunteer/Calendar Coordinator to ensure that all set-up requests have been completed in support of scheduled parish activities.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform those duties necessary to keep the grounds, facilities, and equipment at their original condition of completeness and efficiency, either through repairs or replacement, repairing any damage as soon as possible to avoid further deterioration.
Perform those activities necessary to keep the facilities open and ready for use, including cleaning, disinfecting, heating, moving furniture, caring for grounds, and other housekeeping duties that are performed on a regular basis.
Maintain a system to provide for scheduling of preventive maintenance measures for various facility systems, and for regular review and upkeep of parish facilities.
Operate and maintain the heating, cooling, and ventilating systems.
Maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Perform those additional tasks, as requested, essential to successful parish operations.
Prepare an annual budget in cooperation with the Parish Administrator for routine maintenance and capital projects. Implement and monitor the approved budget to ensure proper cost control.
Inform the Parish Administrator of needed major repairs, maintenance issues, or capital expense in a timely manner.
Take the initiative to suggest improvements or repairs and to make cost efficiency suggestions.
Obtain help from outside contractors or service providers for major breakdowns, repairs, and projects.
Serve as staff liaison to the Facilities Ministry Area Council.
Inspect and take appropriate actions to protect against the possibility of fire, vandalism or other damage.
Take appropriate safety measures so that a hazard-free environment is provided for those groups and individuals who use the parish facilities, and correct conditions that may cause accidents.
Take appropriate measures to provide adequate security protection for parish facilities.
Instruct, direct, supervise the custodial staff in general custodial tasks as needed, developing systems for the regular review of repair and maintenance work and the effectiveness of our maintenance and custodial staff.
Responsible for conducting performance reviews of the maintenance and custodial staff.
Schedule custodial staff to meet the cleaning, maintenance, and security needs of the parish, including times when special events such as the Musical, Festival, Holy Week, etc. occur.

Serve as Safety Manager, assisting with requirements of OSHA/EPA Rules and Regulations. Act as contact person for IEA, Inc. in conjunction with AHERA inspections and proposed remedies. Attend workshops on related matters, as required.
To be present and ready to work and on time for all scheduled hours.
Qualifications
- Possess and maintain valid Special Boiler License within 1 year or Higher.
- Knowledge or experience of basic electrical, carpentry, and plumbing skills
- Interpersonal skills.
- Communication and supervisory skills.
- Must be able to work independently to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
- Must be responsible for carrying out high quality work.
- Ability to supervise, schedule, and evaluate employees and direct their work.
- Ability to encourage a positive working attitude and environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technology ie; AV equipment, sound systems
- Familiar with Security Intrusion Software, security Camera software, Automated Door systems, HVAC software and Time clocks- programing and scheduling
- Troubleshoot simple electrical issues, GFI, Breakers, Fuses
- Simple fix-it capabilities
- Microsoft word, Xcel and Outlook experience
- Be able to take phone calls when needed.
