About the Church of Saint Paul
The Church of Saint Paul is a dynamic Catholic community of 1400+ families empowered by the Holy Spirit to be the Body of Christ alive in the world today. Located in Ham Lake, MN, the parish follows a five-step discipleship pathway to maintain the strength of our community and help individuals become intentional disciples of Jesus Christ through acts of prayer, service, connection, giving, and invitation.
Position Summary
The Discipleship and Engagement Coordinator is a relational and strategic leader who helps parishioners take meaningful next steps in their faith through the parish’s discipleship pathway. This role helps existing parishioners grow in faith, build community, and engage in parish life. Evening and weekend hours required (e.g. key parish events, engagement opportunities, and seasonal programming).
Primary Responsibilities
- Recruit, organize, and train lay leaders to lead and sustain ministries that support the parish discipleship pathway.
- Create and manage a new member welcome and engagement process. Ensure a personal and interactive experience that connects individuals and families to parish life.
- Develop and support adult discipleship opportunities to foster spiritual life and growth of parishioners (e.g. small groups, Bible studies, men’s and women’s ministry, marriage enrichment).
- Provide guidance and support to prayer and pastoral care ministries (e.g. spiritual direction, prayer line, Eucharistic adoration, outreach ministries).
- Be present frequently at weekend Masses (at least two times per month) and parish events to build relationships and create opportunities for connection and engagement.

Qualifications and Required Competencies
- Practicing Roman Catholic who desires to make Jesus known and loved.
- Bachelor’s degree or four plus years of relevant experience.
- Passion for discipleship, evangelization, and parish life.
- Strong leadership, relational, and organizational skills.
- Ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteers effectively while fostering a culture of ownership and leadership.
- Strategic thinker capable of translating vision into effective systems, processes, and ministry initiatives that promote growth and long-term sustainability.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to move from vision to execution.
- Ability to develop and refine systems that support ministry growth and sustainability.
- Must have flexible work hours to accommodate evenings and weekends.
- Must be Essential 3 compliant on first day of employment as required by Archdiocese.
Skills and Preferences
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a focus on people over programs.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, G Suite, ParishSOFT, MSP, VSP).
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with parish staff and leadership.
- Demonstrated professional maturity and initiative.
- Be an encouraging team player and leader.
