Middle School Science Teacher (grade 6-8)

Full-time (with benefits).  40+ hours per week.  Ten-month position.  Work schedule to follow that set by the school.

This role involves delivering engaging, standards-aligned science instruction that nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for God’s creation. The teacher will foster a classroom environment rooted in Catholic values, where students grow intellectually, spiritually, and morally while preparing for high school and beyond.

Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment.  Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church.  Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese, such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal.  It is required that this employee be an active, participating Roman Catholic.

1. BA/BS degree in education or related area.
2. Preferred current State of Minnesota Teaching License
3. Appropriate educational experience.
4. Active, practicing Catholic.
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and administration.
6. Demonstrated ability to make decisions.
7. Demonstrated ability to work without supervision.
8. Demonstrated ability to learn and implement “best practice” educational strategies.
9. Demonstrated ability to manage students effectively.
10. Demonstrated ability to take direction from the administrators and effectively implement new programs, processes and procedures as directed.
11. Complete background check successfully and Virtus training, sign Code of Conduct document.
