Description

St. Cecilia is a small community nestled in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood of St. Paul. As members of the Body of Christ, we live the gospel of Jesus Christ in our daily lives by:

  • welcoming and respecting all people in their faith journey,
  • praising God in worship and song,
  • celebrating the sacraments,
  • growing in faith, and
  • acting in charity and justice. 

We are looking for a part-time Catechetical Ministry Coordinator, 25 hours a week, 48 weeks a year, paid over 12 months. Salary range: $27,000 - $32,000, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Whole Community Formation: With staff and other parish team leaders, facilitate a comprehensive program for all ages that includes faith formation, service opportunities, and community meals.
  • Sacramental Preparation: Direct programs for Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.
  • Youth Programs: Coordinate various youth opportunities, including Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Children's Liturgy of the Word, Advent program, Stations of the Cross, and summer service trips.
  • Volunteer Supervision: Mentor and oversee the training of all faith formation catechists and volunteers.
  • Curriculum and Media Management: Oversee the collection and use of educational materials and Parish Library.
  • Community Events: Collaborate with staff and volunteers on community-building events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, ministry, or related field
  • Experience living the Catholic faith and ability to articulate its teachings
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Five years of pastoral ministry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
  • Flexibility to work Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings as needed, as well as Sacramental retreat days
