Description
Saint Raphael Catholic School is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Preschool After-Care Aide to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
The Preschool After-Care Aide will help provide a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment for our youngest students during the afternoon after the preschool school day ends. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants a flexible, part-time position in a Catholic school community.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 2:30–4:00 PM, with flexibility based on availability
Hours: Approximately 5–10 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and care for preschool students in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Build positive, caring relationships with students and help them feel comfortable and secure.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including play, crafts, stories, outdoor time, and other activities.
- Assist students with snacks, bathroom needs, clean-up, and transitions.
- Encourage positive behavior, kindness, sharing, and respectful interactions.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and play space.
- Communicate appropriately with families and school staff as needed.
- Model and reinforce Catholic Christian values through words, actions, and interactions with students.
- Follow all school safety and supervision procedures and promptly report any safety or facility concerns.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Enjoys working with young children and demonstrates patience, warmth, and enthusiasm.
- Dependable and responsible.
- Able to work effectively with preschool-aged children in a group setting.
- Previous experience working with young children is preferred but not required.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and Catholic identity of Saint Raphael Catholic School.
This is an excellent part-time opportunity for a high school or college student interested in education, an adult looking for a few afternoon hours, or a retired educator who enjoys spending time with young children
