Description

Seeking applicants for music/performing arts teacher, in an academically challenging and religiously faith-filled Catholic School. Faithful Shepherd has core teacher teams for each grade level, K-8, and the curriculum is also well enriched with specialist disciplines and student support across all ability levels.

Faithful Shepherd Catholic School provides music education across all grades, ensuring that all students have a basic foundation for both music appreciation and creative participation.  The program includes vocal and instrumental elements, along with musical notation for composition and sight reading.  Our full-time music teacher collaborates with grade level teachers in planning and preparing students for liturgical music participation, and with our Grade 5-8 Band Director.

Qualifications

Teacher applicants best suited to our school will be energetic, creative, and capable of hands-on interdisciplinary approaches to student engagement. Our faculty has many experienced teachers who serve as strong mentors and partners. We are a tri-Parish school, serving the faith communities of St. John Neumann, St. Thomas Becket, and St. Peter – along with families beyond these parish memberships.

We are seeking a competent musician whose enthusiasm for receiving, enjoying, creating and performing music can be conveyed to young students and whose skill in these areas can help them to achieve the same.

Application Instructions

Preferred candidates will have licensing as a music educator, along with their own accomplished music practice.  Applications, with cover letter and resume, may be sent to the Principal, and are welcomed through May 18.
