Description
The Elementary Faith Formation Coordinator serves the mission of The Church of St. Rita by helping children and families grow as disciples of Jesus Christ within the Catholic faith tradition. This position coordinates faith formation and sacramental preparation for children in Kindergarten through Grade 5, supports parents in their role as primary educators of their children in the faith, and assists in fostering active participation in parish life.
The coordinator is responsible for catechetical programming, volunteer catechist formation, sacramental preparation, and Safe Environment compliance for assigned ministries.
Regular evening hours and occasional weekend responsibilities are required based on parish programming, sacramental celebrations, and parish events.
Full-time, 40 hours per week with benefits. FLSA Non-Exempt.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic in good standing who supports the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
- Ability to work effectively with children, parents, catechists, volunteers, and parish staff
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate professional judgment
- Successful completion of required background check and Essential 3/VIRTUS requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, education, catechetics, or a related field
- Two years of experience in elementary faith formation, Catholic education, or related ministry
- Familiarity with sacramental preparation and parish catechetical programs
