JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Marketing Specialist guides The Saint Paul Seminary’s online user experience and utilizes digital tools for webpages, sales funnels, and email campaigns to share the story of the life-changing formation happening for joyful Catholic leaders: priests, deacons, and lay people. The Digital Marketing Specialist interfaces with clergy formation, lay graduate programs., and Institutional Advancement as well as prospective students, current students, alumni and donors. The Digital Marketing Specialist is detail-oriented and a quick-learner, interested in creative approaches to connect our audience with our mission.
This position is full-time, in-person role that reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Saint Paul Seminary. It includes assessing, managing, and updating web and email communications, supporting strategic funding and recruiting initiatives, and participating in a high-impact and supportive team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Executes all phase of maintaining and updating The Saint Paul Seminary website and other seminary web properties, including SEO, conversion rate optimization, and lead generation. Monitors site analytics and provides regular performance reporting to the Director to support continuous improvement and data-drive decision-making.
- Builds, maintains, and continuously improves the Seminary’s email marketing infrastructure, including automation workflows, audience segmentation, and journey architecture that guides key audiences from awareness through engagement. Executes ongoing email campaigns within that system, including crafting, building, scheduling, A/B testing and reporting. Both building the infrastructure and executing within it are core accountabilities of equal importance.
- Provides detailed analytics reports monthly for all digital tools in order to assess efficacy and implementation of tactics. Supports the Director’s digital media strategy by providing regular analytics, audience insights, and performance reporting across all social channels, web, and email campaigns. Monitors engagement trends and makes data-informed recommendations to inform content direction.
- Supports execution of seminary’s internal communication plan.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary Range: $61,000 to $68,000

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, marketing, communications, journalism, or business
- Three years of professional marketing communications experience to include experience in web, CM, email marketing, analytics, and other marketing technology tools
- Familiar with multiple marketing platforms
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
The successful candidate will also have a strong background in and/or knowledge of the Catholic Church, with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Church and respect for magisterial teaching.
Hiring will be contingent upon the successful completion of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis’ “E3” Requirements of Safe Environment Training (see ), including manifesting a commitment to follow the Archdiocesan Code of Conduct for Church Personnel.
