Description
Frassati Catholic Academy (FCA) in White Bear Lake, Minnesota is seeking a 1st Grade Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
It’s an exciting time at FCA: We are entering our second decade of forming children according to a Catholic vision; and we are full of gratitude for the recent canonization of our patron, Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati.
We know that our Catholic worldview is increasingly divergent from that of the common mentality, and the time has come for us to be clearer and more explicit about who we are and what we are attempting to do as a Catholic school. At FCA, we aim to be a community of learners, united by our common belonging to Christ, who is present in the Church. We seek to live an authentically Catholic culture, born from our continual conversion and adherence to Christ. We aim to initiate students into the great story of salvation, and truthfully introduce them to the whole of reality. We seek to form them and assist them in locating themselves in God’s great story, in order to give themselves over to Him and thereby achieve fulfillment.
We have a clear sense of purpose and direction from our leadership at FCA. We are a part of the history and tradition of both St. Mary of the Lake, and St. Pius X parishes in White Bear Lake. As we enter our second decade as an organization, we look forward to the next chapter of our story. If this is a story you’d like to be a part of, we invite you to consider applying.
First Grade Teacher Responsibilities:
- Design engaging, challenging learning experiences that invite students to apply knowledge in thoughtful, creative, and purposeful ways.
- Encourage deeper reasoning, meaningful discourse, and respectful debate — nurturing a classroom culture where ideas are explored with curiosity and care.
- Foster independence, responsibility, and initiative, guiding students as they begin to take more ownership of their learning and contributions to the community.
- Recognize and support each child’s natural religious sense as it matures — their growing desire to understand God, wrestle with complex truths, and live with purpose.
- Create space for students to explore moral and spiritual questions through sacred stories, silence, service, and personal reflection, always honoring their individual journeys.
- Balance academic rigor with relational warmth — ensuring that the pursuit of knowledge never comes at the expense of joy, belonging, or wonder.
- Empower students to see themselves as both learners and leaders — capable of using their gifts to serve others, seek truth, and shape the world with wisdom and compassion.
