Saint Agnes School seeks a thoughtful and dedicated Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher to join our faculty. Rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition and animated by the sacramental life, Saint Agnes forms students through a rich integration of faith and reason. Position Overview
The Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher serves as the primary classroom teacher for an upper elementary grade and collaborates closely with a grade-level teaching partner. The teacher is responsible for providing engaging and well-structured instruction in core academic subjects including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and History/Geography.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as homeroom teacher for an upper elementary classroom
- Plan and deliver clear, engaging instruction that builds strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, and the study of history and the natural world
- Cultivate a classroom culture marked by order, attentiveness, respect, and intellectual curiosity
- Foster in students a love of learning and a desire to pursue truth, goodness, and beauty
- Collaborate closely with a grade-level teaching partner and the elementary faculty
- Communicate proactively and professionally with parents in support of their role as primary educators
- Differentiate instruction to support a range of student learning needs
- Integrate technology thoughtfully in service of instruction
- Participate actively in the sacramental and communal life of the school
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree - required
- Teaching license - recommended, but not required
- Elementary teaching experience - preferred, but not required
- Experience with Singapore Math and Responsive Classroom - preferred, but not required
