Description
We are seeking a passionate and energetic School Age Care Teacher to inspire and support children during after-school hours, school holidays, and special programs. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners while developing your skills in education and childcare.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, social skills, and physical development for school-age children
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
- Support children’s individual needs by incorporating special education strategies when necessary
- Foster a welcoming environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and inclusivity among children of diverse backgrounds
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and school staff to communicate progress and address any concerns
- Lead activities such as homework help, gym games, and arts and crafts to enrich the children's experience
Qualifications
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and childhood development principles
- Certification in first aid and CPR required or willing to obtain upon hire
- Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages and developmental stages
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
