Description

Epiphany Catholic School in Coon Rapids, MN, is seeking a faithful Catholic educator for a full-time 1st grade position as either a Lead Teacher or Teacher Aide, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. We are a joyful, faith-filled K-8 school dedicated to forming students in Catholic virtue, academic excellence, and a love of learning rooted in wonder and the Catholic tradition.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will support and nurture our youngest learners in a warm, structured classroom environment. You will partner with families and colleagues to help 1st graders grow in faith, character, and foundational academic skills while modeling the joy of the Gospel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a Christ-centered classroom that promotes reverence, kindness, and virtue formation
  • Deliver engaging instruction and support in reading, math, religion, and other core subjects (lead teacher) or assist the lead teacher with small-group and individual support (aide)
  • Collaborate with the 1st grade team and school staff to create a positive learning environment
  • Communicate regularly and warmly with parents
  • Participate actively in school liturgies, prayer, and community life

Qualifications

  1. BA/BS degree in education or related area.
  2. Preferred current State of Minnesota Teaching License
  3. Appropriate educational experience.
  4. Active, practicing Catholic.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and administration.
  6. Demonstrated ability to make decisions.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work without supervision.
  8. Demonstrated ability to learn and implement “best practice” educational strategies.
  9. Demonstrated ability to manage students effectively.
  10. Demonstrated ability to take direction from the administrators and effectively implement new programs, processes and procedures as directed.
  11. Complete background check successfully and Virtus training, sign Code of Conduct document.
  12. Classroom experience required (experience with early elementary preferred)
  13. Passion for Catholic education and working with young children
  14. Strong interpersonal skills and a warm, patient presence
