Marriage Formation Coordinator

Status: Part-time non-exempt, hourly, (10-15 hours/week)

Salary: $25/Hr.

Marriage Formation Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for marriage preparation and walks with couples throughout the engagement and wedding process at Holy Cross Church. Provides programming to also support ongoing marriage enrichment.

Pre-Cana formation

  • Serve as the parish contact person for weddings and assist pastor with admitting couples to the pre-Cana cohort.
  • Coordinate marriage preparation program (Pre-Cana), including administering the Fully Engaged program and coordinating meetings with mentor couples. Organize twice-yearly training/social gatherings for mentor couples.
  • Organize and execute pre-Cana cohort retreat, including logistics, content and hospitality.
  • Train, oversee and schedule wedding coordinators as needed to assist at wedding rehearsals and wedding Masses at the parish; assist in person with rehearsals and weddings as needed.
  • Communicating with administrative staff regarding the scheduling of weddings and rehearsals on the parish calendar as well as the scheduling of priests’ meetings with engaged couples.
  • Maintain wedding files for the priests and update them regularly when couples submit forms or complete necessary tasks. This information is also organized in an Excel spreadsheet, shared with appropriate staff, and updated regularly.
  • Develop ongoing relationships with newly married couple couples.
  • Coordinate follow up communication with those who have been recently married.
  • Provide support for those pursuing marriage, convalidations, and the annulment process.
  • Provide programming to support and enrich all stages of married life.
  • Participate in monthly Direct Ministry meetings.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Two or more years of office work.
  • Parish work experience preferred.
  • Possessed excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software and programs.
  • Understanding of the Catholic Faith, rituals, calendar, and practices.
  • Successfully complete criminal background check and meet Safe Environment standards.
