Description

St. Stephen's in Anoka is seeking a dynamic person who is skilled in writing, editing, graphic design, website management, and able to collaborate with staff to connect people to the church's mission to Seek, Love, and Serve Jesus Christ.

This position ensures that all digital, written, and verbal communications are clear, consistent, engaging and aligned with Catholic teaching. The ideal candidate will also manage social media, promote events, and collaborate with church and school staff, councils, committees, and ministry leaders in communication initiatives.

Other responsibilities include managing a communications and marketing plan, actively promoting events and ministries, updating website and social media content, and an integral involvement in promoting parish and school fundraising events.

Parish/School Communications & Digital Ministry:

  • Collaborate with clergy, staff, councils, committees, and ministries to provide the consistent message in various marketing and communication outlets.
  • Create, edit, design, and publish parish communications, including:
    • Weekly parish bulletin
    • Weekly parish email (i.e. Flock Note)
    • Website content
    • Social media
    • Flyers, signage, and promotional materials as needed
    • Parish-wide campaigns and special communication messages
  • Maintain consistent messaging, branding, visual standards, and quality control across parish and school communications.
  • Maintain an organized parish communications calendar and coordinate the timing of parish-wide messages and initiatives collaborating and syncing with school marketing and communications.
  • Assist with special projects such as mailings, brochures, raffles, event materials, seasonal communications, and other communications or marketing needs.
  • Evaluate communication methods and engagement to improve how the parish and school can better reach and serve the needs of parishioners, school families, and the community.

Technology & Systems used in Marketing:

  • Maintain an efficient and working knowledge of software, technology, and digital systems and platforms used in marketing and communications including management of software subscriptions, licenses, users, and renewals.

Leadership and Administration:

  • Solicit direction and support from the pastor, principal, and ministry leaders to collaborate in creating materials and messaging to promote new members and increase school enrollment.
  • Establish clear processes and timelines for staff and ministries to submit communication requests to manage project deadlines.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Support the teachings and mission of the Roman Catholic Church and demonstrate a commitment to serve the parish community.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, graphic design, or a related field, preferred.
  • Strong visual communication and design skills with the ability to manage and organize multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and familiarity with other communication platforms such as Canva, Flock Note, or similar applications.
