Description
Job Purpose:
The Director of Facilities is personally responsible for the upkeep, safety, beauty, and usability of the entire
Saint Raphael campus. Maintenance requests are handled speedily, competently, and in a budget-
conscious manner. Setup needs of campus events are intuited and pro-actively anticipated, necessitating
frequent meetings with the operations team to keep a close eye on the parish and school calendars.
Custodians under this position’s supervision are held to task and kept well informed and coordinated in their
assigned duties.
General Responsibilities:
Employment in and by the church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must
conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the
Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese,
such that it can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is preferred that this employee be an active,
participating Catholic. Reasonable accommodations for the religious practice of non-Catholic employees will
similarly be provided.
Representative Responsibilities: (* denotes essential functions)
To be present where needed, ready to work and on time for all scheduled hours. Includes recognizing when
situations require more effort, satisfying responsibilities in a timely manner, and providing an example of
punctuality and attendance.
Facilities Management:
• Prepare all documents required to participate in the Catholic Mutual PRISM insurance program;
update facilities usage, maintenance and repair plans. *
• Establish a short and long term maintenance and repair program that must also meet Catholic
Mutual Requirments
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations and practices. *
• Represent the Church of St. Raphael in matters relating to local civil concerns, including codes,
variances, regulations, assessments, etc. *
• Review and seek approval from Catholic Mutual for all maintenance agreements, contracts and bids as
required. Review and approve the purchase and maintenance of all machinery. *
• Negotiate and review all maintenance agreements, contracts, and bids. Monitor compliance with
environmental, safety and health regulations. *
• Assist committee meetings as requested by pastor and provide necessary documents. *
• Provide assistance for parish events; respond to any issues, concerns or problems which may arise. *
• Responsible for creating annual facilities budget proposal and approving through Pastor, PBA, and
Finance Council.
• Coding Invoices pertaining to facilities maintenance before passing them on to accounts payable.
• Establish working relationships with other departments such as: Parish School Principal and leadership,
Religious Formation, Pastoral Care, Liturgy and Music. *
• Work availability during normal business hours to meet with all contractors and 3 rd party vendors.
• Attend calendaring meetings as directed by the Pastor and PBA. Regular check in meetings with
parish and school leadership is also required.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
• Experience in a management/supervision role.
• Experience in facilities maintenance and strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and
structural systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and GSuite
• Sign Employee Code of Conduct.
• Attend VIRTUS Training.
• Pass Archdiocese Employee Background Check.

• Able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
