Description
The Assistant Facility Manager supports the Facility Manager in the safe, efficient, reliable and professional operation of the Church of St. Odilia parish and school campus.
This is a hands-on facilities position combining building maintenance, facility inspections, preventive maintenance, event setup and tear-down, service-request/work-ticket completion, custodial and grounds support, safety and security responsibilities, contractor coordination, building systems monitoring and general facility operations.
The Assistant Facility Manager is expected to perform many of the day-to-day operational responsibilities of the Facility Manager under the Facility Manager's direction, including maintenance, service requests, event setups and tear-downs, building operations, emergency response, security, contractor coordination and general campus support.
The position serves as an important second level of facility support and is expected to help maintain continuity of facility operations when the Facility Manager is unavailable.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous facilities, building maintenance, custodial, mechanical, construction, property maintenance or similar hands-on experience strongly preferred.
- Solid work history with demonstrated dependability and good attendance.
- Ability to obtain a Special Boiler License within six months of hire if required.
- General knowledge of building maintenance and the ability and willingness to learn additional facility systems.
- Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot basic facility problems.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a high level of integrity in a diverse environment with people of all ages, including students, parishioners, staff, clergy, volunteers, contractors and visitors.
- Ability to accept direction and appropriately prioritize assigned work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic working knowledge of computers, email and electronic work-order/service-request systems.
- Ability and willingness to learn building automation, access-control and other facility-related computer systems.
- Willingness to continuously learn, receive training and accept constructive feedback to improve individual performance.
- Must demonstrate good judgment, professionalism, confidentiality and integrity.
- Must maintain a neat, clean and professional appearance appropriate to the position.
