Description

Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary School is seeking caring, energetic, and dependable individuals to join our Extended Day team. Extended Day Care Assistants play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where students can learn, play, build friendships, and grow in faith before and after the school day.

Schedule

Staff members are asked to work a minimum of two days per week. Our Extended Day program operates Monday through Friday when school is in session:

  • Morning session: 6:45 a.m.–8:30 a.m.
  • Afternoon session: 2:45 p.m.–5:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students in kindergarten through eighth grade during Extended Day hours.
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and supportive environment through games, activities, quiet time, and homework assistance.
  • Support and uphold the Catholic mission, values, and behavioral expectations of the school.
  • Assist with student check-in and check-out procedures and maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures related to safety, supervision, behavior, and emergency response.
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and welcoming Extended Day spaces.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, coaching, parish, or youth program setting preferred.
  • Ability to supervise groups of students in a safe, calm, and positive manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and consistency.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to follow directions, routines, and school procedures.
  • Comfort working with students of various ages.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to student needs, conflicts, and behavior concerns.
  • Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Completion of required background check, safe environment training, and any other required school or Archdiocesan requirements.
