Description
The Director of Discipleship and Stewardship is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the overall discipleship and stewardship programs for Saint Dominic Catholic Church. The Director of Discipleship and Stewardship educates, invites, and inspires parishioners to practice stewardship as a way of life and an expression of discipleship, by sharing their Time, Talent and Treasure with the focus on fulfilling the mission of Saint Dominic Catholic Church.
The ideal candidate would be already enthusiastically living as a disciple of Jesus Christ. They would be eager to help others live a life of stewardship, as explained in Stewardship: A Disciple's Response, the pastoral letter by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). The ideal candidate would also already be tithing financially. We need to be already living life as a steward, if we are inviting others to do the same.
They would establish and lead a Stewardship Committee (which focuses on time/talent/treasure). This helps us invite, equip, grow, and thank our volunteers. It promotes more frequent prayer and reception of the sacraments. And, promotes/advertises our successes at the parish and invites others to partner with us financially.
We would know we are successful when we see significant increases in the number of people who serve in our ministries, increases in the number of people who worship with us, and increases in the financial investment made into the Church of St. Dominic.
We envision that this person would work 15-20 hours per week.
