Description

St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Kindergarten Long-Term Substitute Teacher to join our team during a maternity leave from late October/early November 2026 through the end of March 2027. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with our youngest students, committed to academic excellence, and supportive of our school’s mission and Catholic identity.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Teach kindergarten using engaging, developmentally appropriate instructional strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with one other kindergarten teaching partner to ensure cohesive instruction, alignment with the curriculum, and shared expectations across the team.
  • Create a classroom environment that supports student learning, respect, and responsibility.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of kindergarten students.
  • Integrate Catholic values into interactions, classroom culture, and appropriate aspects of the curriculum.
  • Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and curriculum documentation.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS Degree, Current MN Teaching License
  • Practicing Catholic
  • Exhibit competence in instructional methods and knowledge of subject matter being taught.
  • Demonstrate evidence of good classroom management techniques.
  • Develop and maintain a positive rapport and relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience with technology in the classroom, including the use of SMARTBoards, Chromebooks, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely fashion with the school, students, staff, and parents.
