Description
Position Summary: This position assists the Associate Director of Youth Discipleship in forming, coaching, and supporting parish youth ministers by implementing events and resources that promote discipleship across the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. This position combines administrative coordination, pastoral collaboration, and mission-driven service.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Support the Associate Director of Youth Discipleship in developing and implementing discipleship frameworks and formation opportunities for youth ministers and volunteers.
- Build and maintain relationships within the youth ministry community, offering consistent pastoral, formational and logistical support.
- Communicate regularly and respond promptly with youth ministers, parishes, volunteers, and partner offices via email, phone, and other platforms.
- Coordinate with multiple Archdiocesan offices and external partners to create, promote, and execute programs, events, and resources for various ministry groups.
- Assist in organizing, developing, and executing Archdiocesan events such as Summits, Lifeline, Youth Minister Orientation, Retreats and other large-scale or emerging initiatives.
- Manage event-related details and databases, including planning, registration, promotion, preparing materials, hospitality, and follow-up communications.
- Collaborate with the Office of Discipleship and Evangelization to creatively address emerging needs and further the mission of youth discipleship.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Must be a practicing Catholic disciple of Christ with a faithful personal prayer life and thorough knowledge of and respect for Catholic Church teachings.
- Demonstrated relational and pastoral skills with the ability to engage a variety of demographics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canva, and Flocknote (or similar tools).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a mission-focused team.
- Creative and flexible problem solver with attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent the Archdiocese with professionalism.
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings for ministry events, as needed.
- Joyful, mission-minded attitude and a commitment to servant leadership.
Job Qualifications: (Education and Experience):
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, with a commitment to ongoing personal and spiritual formation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred (in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Communications, or related field).
- 3-5 years of youth ministry or parish ministry coordination experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license is strongly preferred.
- Openness to professional development and annual retreat participation encouraged and supported.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop and bend.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Must be able to travel locally for events and parish collaboration.
