Description
Holy Family is seeking a part-time Accounting Assistant to process the data entry of all income and expenses on a weekly basis for the church and school. This position is a direct report to the Business Administrator and is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and generating reports essential for financial administration and audit preparation.
The Accounting Assistant will carry out weekly accounting tasks to ensure accurate and organized financial records. Key responsibilities include:
- Process weekly invoice payments and maintain accurate records.
- Process weekly deposits of donations and other revenue.
- Update accounting records weekly for both income and expenses.
- Process weekly data entry from third party income sources: eCatholic, TADS, Square, etc.
- Generate weekly transaction reports and donation reports for bulletin.
- Print reports as requested by Business Administrator, Pastor and finance council.
- Assist with the preparation and printing end-of-year donation statements.
- Organize, file, and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and readiness for audit purposes.
Qualifications
- Computer Competency: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as the ability to efficiently navigate websites and applications.
- Accounting Software Knowledge: Working knowledge of Quickbooks, Parishsoft or similar accounting/ database management programs is preferred; willingness and ability to learn is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure consistent, accurate data entry and recordkeeping is necessary.
- Integrity and Confidentiality: High standard of integrity and professionalism with regard to managing sensitive or confidential information is necessary.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to file and maintain accounting documents in an organized and accessible manner.
