Youth Director

The Youth Director leads our discipleship efforts for middle- and high-school youth, forming them as missionary disciples through prayer, catechesis, small groups, service, and community life. The role collaborates closely with the Pastor and the Faith Formation Director and integrates youth into the broader life of the parish.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan & lead weekly youth ministry (October–April rhythm aligned to Wednesday evening Faith Formation) including small-group discipleship, prayer, and age-appropriate formation; coordinate additional summer experiences, retreats, and service projects.
• Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers; model a vibrant Catholic life; provide resources for parents and partner with families as the primary educators of the faith.
• Communications: keep parents and teens informed via parish channels (bulletin/website) and youth social profiles; produce clear calendars and event info.
• Safety & compliance: ensure full adherence to Archdiocese of Saint Paul & Minneapolis safe-environment policies (background checks, Code of Conduct, and VIRTUS/CMG Connect training); maintain accurate records and event risk-management practices.
• Collaboration: work with parish staff to integrate youth into parish worship and life (e.g., Adoration, parish events) and to align with parish vision and calendar.
• Administration: develop the youth-ministry calendar and budget; manage registrations, permission forms, rosters, and chaperone ratios in line with Archdiocesan standards.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic in good standing who joyfully supports the teachings of the Catholic Church and has a heart for evangelization and accompaniment of teens.
• Bachelor’s degree in theology, catechetics, education, ministry, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
• Clear communicator (spoken/written), organized, and comfortable with basic digital tools and social media for ministry updates.
• Must meet Archdiocesan Essential 3 requirements (background check, Code of Conduct, safe-environment training) prior to start and maintain credentials thereafter.
• Ability to work evenings and some weekends (especially Wednesday nights during the formation year).
