Description

Third Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher

Our Lady of Peace School is seeking a Third Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher for the 2025–26 school year, with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on performance and school needs. This position is part of a collaborative and faith-filled team committed to nurturing the whole child through academic excellence, spiritual growth, and service to others.

The teacher in this role will create a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment that supports student learning and well-being, while partnering closely with parents, colleagues, and administration to foster a strong and supportive school community rooted in our Catholic identity.

Our Lady of Peace School is a preschool–grade 8 Catholic school serving families from our parish and surrounding communities. We are committed to forming students in faith, academics, and service, and we value educators who embrace our mission and contribute positively to our school culture.

Responsibilities

  • Teach third-grade curriculum and all assigned subjects in alignment with school standards, curriculum, and Catholic values

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and academically rigorous classroom environment

  • Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church

  • Plan, organize, and deliver effective lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners

  • Support students with IEPs, learning plans, or accommodations to help them reach their full potential

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and positive behavior supports

  • Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and administration

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and the school community

  • Integrate instructional technology appropriately to enhance learning

  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school initiatives as applicable

  • Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism at all times

  • Follow all school policies and the employee handbook

  • Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to continuous growth as an educator

  • Support and uphold school initiatives, administrative decisions, and the mission of the Archdiocese and Catholic Church

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree and appropriate educational experience.
  • Good people and learning skills.
  • Ability to work in a goal-oriented school and adapt to new programs/processes.
  • Desire to work within a team and ability to maintain a positive atmosphere with colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely fashion with school, students, staff, and parents.
  • Experience with technology in the classroom, including interactive projector, Google Suite, Chromebooks, etc.
