Description

Purpose of Position: The Reception and Visitor Services role is responsible for the coordination, facilitation, and oversight of (1) weekly tours, (2) the gift shop, and (3) assist the Director of Operations in a wide range of tasks including scheduling, volunteer management, purchasing, marketing, set-ups, monitoring, and data entry.  This new employee is expected to participate in creating a productive and hospitable environment, promoting good morale, and ensuring adequate communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Weekly Tours: Train, manage, and schedule docents, coordinate on-line tour times for schools, visitors, and special events. Manage tour equipment, gather feedback, and collect payments.
  • Gift Shop: Procure and manage inventory, oversee square sales process, report income and expenses, and govern limited, but focused marketing efforts.
  • Reception: Manage and monitor secured door access from remote location(s). Screen visitors, coordinate and cross reference with calendar entries, receive and direct incoming and outgoing parties as necessary.
  • Logistics: May also assist the Director of Operations with event-related functions, such as:
    • Mass counts
    • Event Center related coordination and set-ups for large gatherings
    • Assisting the public with a wide range of inquiries and issues
    • Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested

Qualifications

  • High school degree required
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills
  • Office work and/or data entry experience preferred
  • Parish work experience preferred
  • Possess customer service skills
  • Possess proficient computer skills
  • Understanding of the Catholic Faith, rituals, liturgical calendar, and practices preferred
  • Successfully complete required background checks and safe environment training
