Description
Now Hiring: Marketing & Communications Manager
West St. Paul, MN | Full-Time | Hybrid Eligible | Compensation begins at $50,000 and is commensurate with experience, with opportunity for growth over time
If you enjoy the combination of design and storytelling with mission-driven work, then we have a place for you. At Guiding Star Wakota, we walk with women facing unexpected pregnancies, offering medical care, practical support, and the steady reassurance that they are not alone. We’re hiring a Marketing & Communications Manager to help make that mission visible: in print, online, and in person. If you know how to shape a message that moves people to action, this is your chance to make it count.
What You’ll Do
Create and Manage All Core Communications:
– Design branded print and digital materials using Canva, InDesign, or similar tools
– Write and format quarterly newsletters, brochures, flyers, and donor updates
– Capture and edit photo and video content using tools like InShot or CapCut
– Develop social media posts and reels (primarily Facebook and Instagram)
– Oversee content and layout of our annual Impact Report
– Use AI tools like ChatGPT to support drafting, repurposing, and refining content across platforms
Lead Donor Messaging Across Platforms:
– Write and schedule donor emails using Mailchimp or Salesforce
– Build thank-you messages, campaign updates, and event invitations
– Support seasonal fundraising campaigns using platforms like GiveSmart
Coordinate Strategy and Partnerships:
– Track performance metrics to monitor reach, growth, and engagement
– Work alongside development, programming, and leadership to align communications
– Act as our primary liaison with Choose Life Marketing for project coordination and branding
Tools You’ll Be Expected to Use
– Canva, InDesign (or similar design platforms)
– InShot, CapCut (or comparable short-form video tools)
– Mailchimp, Salesforce (basic working familiarity is sufficient)
– GiveSmart, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
– ChatGPT or other AI tools for content ideation, first drafts, repurposing, or polishing
Why This Role Matters
You’re not just filling a communications position. You’re helping women see that they are seen. You’re helping donors understand the heartbeat behind our work. Every word, image, and design you create becomes part of a larger invitation, to choose life, to support hope, and to believe that beauty still persuades.
Qualifications
What You Bring
– 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or design (nonprofit background welcome)
– Strong visual design instincts and a clean, professional aesthetic
– Excellent writing ability, especially for donor-facing materials
– Familiarity with social, email, and print communication formats
– Working understanding of tools listed above, even if not at expert level
– Self-starter mentality, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines
– Must be fully aligned with our Catholic, pro-life mission and comfortable working in a faith-based setting
