Description

Purpose of the Position: The Director of Facilities is a mission-driven leader responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, security, and long-term stewardship of Holy Family Catholic High School’s campus. This individual ensures that our physical environment reflects and supports the school’s commitment to excellence in education, faith formation, and community engagement. The Director of Facilities oversees the maintenance team, outside vendors, and all aspects of campus operations to maintain a clean, safe, welcoming, and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Salary: $75,000-95,000

Key Responsibilities

1. Facilities Leadership and Management

●Lead, manage, and support the facilities and custodial staff, ensuring alignment with school needs and standards.

●Oversee day-to-day operations of the campus, including cleaning, repairs, security, and general maintenance.

●Develop and implement systems for preventive maintenance and timely repairs across all campus buildings and grounds.

●Monitor and manage the school’s annual and long-range facility budgets, prioritizing cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality and safety.

2. Safety, Security & Compliance

●Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, health regulations, safety standards, and Archdiocesan policies.

●Serve as primary contact for all facility-related emergencies, coordinating responses and managing risk mitigation plans.

Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards or maintenance needs.

●Collaborate with administration to develop and implement emergency response protocols and safety drills.

3. Strategic Planning & Project Oversight

●Participate in long-term planning for campus growth, sustainability initiatives, and facility improvements.

●Oversee capital projects and renovations, coordinating contractors, timelines, and budgets.

●Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, service providers, and regulatory agencies.

4. Operational Support for School Activities

●Coordinate facility scheduling and support for school events, liturgies, athletics, and other campus functions.

●Ensure that all spaces are appropriately prepared, clean, and maintained before and after events.

●Maintain inventory of maintenance equipment and supplies, ensuring availability and accountability.

5. Communication & Collaboration

●Maintain clear and proactive communication with school leadership, staff, and external partners.

●Attend leadership meetings and collaborate with departments to align facility operations with the school’s mission and strategic goals.

●Provide regular updates on maintenance schedules, project progress, and facility needs.

●Support student activities and participate in key school functions, including evening and weekend events as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

●Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in facilities management or a related field; school or non-profit setting preferred.

●Supervisory and leadership experience required.

●Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/safety).

●Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.

●Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and the values of Holy Family Catholic High School.

Physical Demands:

●Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

●Use of a computer for long periods of time.

●Occasional evening or weekend events/meetings and travel

●Reliable personal transportation
