About the Opportunity

St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a caring and experienced Lead Preschool Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year to nurture and guide children ages 3–5 in a faith-filled and joyful learning environment. You’ll join a close-knit team of educators committed to bringing both academics and the Catholic faith into children’s daily experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Create a welcoming and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support academic, emotional, and spiritual growth
  • Supervise students at all times with attention to safety and well-being
  • Maintain classroom routines, behavioral expectations, and consistent communication with families
  • Assess and document student progress using portfolios and a variety of tools
  • Participate in required staff meetings, conferences, school events, and family engagement activities
  • Meet all licensing and DHS requirements, including professional development hours
  • Collaborate with the preschool director, colleagues, and school leadership
  • Be flexible and available to work between 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in Child Development or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Early Childhood preferred) and 1,560 hours of relevant experience
  • Successful completion of DHS fingerprinting and background checks
  • Completion of preschool orientation, VIRTUS training, and CPR/First Aid certification (within 90 days of hire)

Preferred:

  • Experience in early childhood education
  • Familiarity with Catholic school settings
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
