Overview

Maternity of Mary St Andrew Catholic School (MMSA) and Maternity of Mary Parish are seeking a dynamic, faith-filled professional to develop and lead a comprehensive marketing and advancement plan.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, exempt position.

Reports to: Pastor  

Direct reports: none

Provides work direction to: Parish Office Administrator, School Administrative Assistant and volunteers as applicable.

 

Employment in and by the Parish is substantially different from secular employment. Maternity of Mary/MMSA employees are held to a different and many times a higher standard of conduct. Maternity employees must conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Catholic Church. It is preferred that this employee be a Catholic. It is expected that all employees respect Catholic doctrine and religious practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing:
    • Partner with the Pastor, Principal and Parish Director to develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive marketing plan for MMSA and the Parish
    • Lead all marketing efforts for the school and parish including brand management, messaging and promotional materials ensuring a comprehensive and consistent communications approach to the school and parish communities
    • Assist with the planning, development, production and dissemination of internal and external communications to include, but not limited to, the weekly newsletter, weekly bulletin, brochures, fact sheets, letters, advertisements, video script, staff/community newsletters, annual reports, and feature articles via traditional and digital avenues to ensure effectiveness of communication with the public including social media
    • Evaluate marketing activities and adjust as needed
    • Oversee the school and parish website, ensuring it is up to date with current information. Collaborate with faculty and staff on the content
    • Serve as a media contact and foster relationships with the media to grow the school’s image and visibility
  • Advancement
    • Design and implement a comprehensive advancement plan to increase philanthropic activity amongst parishioners, non-parishioners, school families and alumni
    • Assist the Parish Director and Principal in the sourcing and preparation of grant proposals
    • Major Gifts: develop a campaign for major gift giving and planned giving, develop a donor communication plan to support the efforts, 
    • Enrollment: collaborate with the school administration to develop a strategy to grow enrollment in the school, particularly focusing on the Pre-K and Kindergarten ages.
    • Develop a comprehensive fundraising plan for the school and parish, working with volunteers to grow existing events and develop new events.
    • Develop and lead an alumni campaign for MMSA as they approach their 75th anniversary to reconnect with past students and gather support for the future of the school.
    • Work with the Spring Fling Planning Committee to promote the annual school fundraiser
  • Parish and Community Duties
    • Attend staff meetings
    • Attend Parish and school events to establish and build relationships with key parishioners and school families and to gather marketing content from such events
    • Promote and maintain a respectful and effective relationship with staff and parishioners in order to provide a meaningful liaison.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Pastor

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate understanding and acceptance of Catholic doctrine
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Prior work experience in marketing and/or advancement, with proven ability to demonstrate success in either area
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills and ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Ability to effectively partner and collaborate with a diverse group of Church and academic leaders.
  • Pass a background check
  • Experience of website management and social media communications
  • Occasional evenings and weekend work required
