Our Lunchroom Support position helps with the day-to-day preparation and delivery of a nutritional meal to help in the development of the whole child.

This is a part-time position, 2–3 hours per day, five days per week, on school days. The approximate hours are 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

What You’d Do

You’ll help with daily lunch service by:

• Preparing and serving food daily.
• Operating various types of commercial kitchen equipment as needed to prepare, cook, and serve meals.
• Maintaining work areas and serving areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition.
• Controlling food line activity to assure orderly and efficient meal service.
• Setting up food serving lines.
• Washing dishes and equipment and cleaning up work areas, including mopping spills.
• Setting up, taking down, cleaning, and sanitizing equipment used for daily lunch service.
• Assisting children as necessary.
• Performing related duties as assigned.

We’re looking for someone who can establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, school staff, and students.

You’ll help maintain an orderly and efficient meal service while keeping work and serving areas clean, sanitary, and safe.

Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience in an institutional, restaurant, or school kitchen environment is desirable.
• Some knowledge of various types of kitchen equipment and their uses.
• Knowledge of safety standards, sanitation, health standards, and food-borne diseases.
• Ability to store and care for food in accordance with health guidelines.
• Ability to prepare food according to planned menus and uniform recipes.
• Ability to assist children as necessary.
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
