Description
St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a dynamic Catholic, ready to embrace our mission of “Living for Christ and Learning for Life” as a full-time learning specialist! The learning specialist is an educator who provides direct services to support students with diverse learning needs with both individual and small group instruction. This role involves identifying learning challenges, developing strategies to help students succeed, and collaborating with teachers and the Director of Student Services.
Candidates must be student-centered, have high expectations, and possess an enthusiastic approach to working with exceptional learners and their families. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.
Qualifications
Practicing Roman Catholic, MN teaching license preferred, experience preferred
The ideal candidate will have:
- Dedication to the mission of Catholic education
- Holds a Minnesota teaching license or in process of obtaining (elementary and/or middle school)
- Strong faith-based value system
- Willingness to collaborate in planning instruction and making data-driven decisions
- Knowledge of/experience with special education, IEPs, 504 Plans
- Love of children and acceptance of all students in our Catholic school
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Strong communication skills and works well with others (teaming with teachers and guiding paraprofessionals)
- Shows a desire to be a part of a partnership and sharing of ideas with the ultimate goal of student success
- Creative, thinks “out of the box,” looks for possibilities, and willing to dream big
- Independent learner and self-starter, willing to take on tasks without step-by-step instruction
