Description
St. Hubert is currently looking for a Kindergarten paraprofessional for the 2025-2026 school year, working from 7:30 - 1:30 each day; additional hours may be possible depending on availability. The paraprofessional provides support to the classroom teacher by helping foster a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student’s ability. Duties include meeting with students under the teacher’s direction to assist with learning, organizing and preparing materials for the classroom, and supervising students in the classroom, in the hallway, and at lunch and recess. Paraprofessionals are an important part of the learning experience for our youngest students.

Development of Students
- Establish positive relationships with students.
- Support high standards for student behavior set by the classroom teacher and paraprofessional team.
- Redirect undesired student behavior with a care-based approach.
Learning Environment
- Provide quality instruction and guidance to individuals and small groups of students directed by the classroom teacher.
- Support student engagement in the classroom.
- Compliment a positive learning environment.
- Provide timely and appropriate feedback to students.
- Cooperate with other paraprofessionals, teachers, parish, counselors, and administrators to assist in identifying and responding to the learning needs of students.
Supervision
- Remains vigilant in supervisory duties at lunch and recess.
- Engages with students to build positive relationships.
- Supports school-wide implementation of strategies to promote positive student behavior.
- Reports concerns to appropriate staff.
- Ensures the physical and emotional safety of all students.
- Respond to needs appropriately.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Be willing to support and uphold the teaching of the Catholic faith
- Experience and/or training in education preferred
- Demonstrates:
- ability to effectively and collegially work with others.
- ability to make decisions.
- ability to work without supervision.
- ability to manage and maintain a classroom of students effectively
- ability to keep the supervisor and others appropriately informed
- Complete VIRTUS training.
- Pass a required background check.
