Description

Saint Paul’s Outreach (SPO) is looking for an Events Coordinator to plan and execute fundraising and friend-raising events that invite others into the mission of evangelization on college campuses.

The Events Coordinator will lead the strategy and execution of key donor events—from large-scale gatherings to smaller, relational touchpoints—helping create meaningful experiences that connect supporters to the mission and impact of SPO. This role will also support grant writing efforts to secure additional funding and will build a team of donors through Mission Partner Development. Success in this role means creating events and funding opportunities that help fuel the mission to reach and transform the lives of college students across the country.

Responsibilities

Event Planning & Execution

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all Advancement events, including major donor events and regional gatherings
  • Oversee logistics including venues, communications, promotion, registration, and production
  • Coordinate timelines, vendors, and internal teams to ensure high-quality event execution
  • Collaborate with Donor Engagement Officers on hosts, guest lists, and sponsorship opportunities
  • Partner with Regional Administrators to support local engagement efforts (e.g., thank-a-thons, seasonal outreach)

Event Strategy & Donor Engagement

  • Work with Advancement leadership to develop event strategy across regions
  • Create events that foster meaningful connection between donors and the mission
  • Track event effectiveness and contribute to ongoing improvement of donor engagement efforts

Grant Writing & Funding Support

  • Research and identify new grant opportunities aligned with SPO’s mission
  • Write and submit compelling grant applications and supporting materials
  • Collaborate with staff to gather data and define projects for funding proposals
  • Manage grant timelines, reporting, and funder relationships

Mission Partner Development (MPD)

  • Build and maintain a team of donors to spiritually and financially partner with you in your role
  • Communicate regularly with supporters through updates, invitations, and gratitude

Qualifications

  • Abides by the Catholic Church’s teachings on faith and morals, exemplifies standards of Christian conduct, and committed to living SPO’s charism values.
  • Exceptional Writing & Editing: Ability to produce clear, persuasive, and structured content tailored to different audiences.
  • Research Abilities: Proficiency in using online databases (e.g., Grants.gov, Foundation Directory Online) and finding relevant funding sources.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail: Strong capacity to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and maintain detailed records.
  • Dependable, flexible, and proactive
  • Skilled in Proof-reading
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills: Experience interacting with donors, stakeholders, and internal teams to build relationships.
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with computer technology, including experience/proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive/Google apps, conferencing technology and ability to learn and become proficient in other apps and systems quickly
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is essential
  • 3–5 years experience in administration or event planning preferred

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous experience with Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) software a plus
