Description

Position overview:

This position will assist the Athletic & Activities Director in the coordination of athletic and extracurricular activities. This position has primary responsibility for 9-12th grade athletics and activities operations, including event planning, facilities scheduling, setup, and game management and supervision, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities to BSM as a Catholic School:

Except in the teaching of religion, it is not an essential prerequisite that all employees be Catholic.  However, all employees are expected to respect the teaching of the Church.  All employees should support in word and action the mission and philosophy of the school.

Administrative:

  • Activities administration
  • Provide support to activities program advisors
  • Work with Admissions, Marketing, and other departments to support the positive communication and branding of activities programs
  • Support AD with budget management and facilities and equipment oversight
  • Facility scheduling
  • Games & Events
    • Set up for athletic games and events including, but not limited to:
      • Scoreboard
      • PA System
      • Team Bench area
      • Field Markers
    • Site Supervision as assigned, including:
      • Spectator supervision, host officials and supervision of game workers.
      • Schedule and arrange payment for all game workers
    • Administer high school academic eligibility
      • Coordinate with high school Principal communication and enforcement
    • Schedules
      • Lead on all facility scheduling for athletics and activities, Coordinating with AD and other departments as necessary
      • Assist in high school scheduling as assigned
    • Schedule officials
      • Coordinate with AD scheduling of officials
      • Non-Varsity – soccer, volleyball, football, and others as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Game Worker Coordinator (Home Events):

  1. Assign/recruit all home game workers as needed
  2. Coordinate payment of all game workers with the business office.

Summer Camp/Training Coordinator:

  1. Work with Athletic Director on what/when/where & finances
  2. Create/update program listings – website
  3. Handle registrations and allocate between camps/offerings
  4. Share information with coaches
  5. Ensure 1st Day of camp(s) and training(s) are well coordinated as far as greeting and check-ins.

Miscellaneous:

  1. Ordering of equipment/supplies as directed by Athletic Director
  2. Assist with concessions as needed
  3. Coordinate special projects as directed by Athletic Director (such as) Shot Clock Installation
  4. Assist with Building Operations – Opening/Closing as directed by Athletic Director
  5. Assistance with Game(s) Schedule(s) as directed
    • Verify/confirm weekly schedules with opponent school(s)
    • Verify schedules as needed
  6. Delivery/Pickup as needed, including, but not limited to, Broadway Awards (Robbinsdale) & MSHSL Office (Brooklyn Center)

  1. Train coaches and moderators on proper building security protocols.

 

 

Qualifications

Education / Experience (Minimum Required)

  1. Associate’s Degree (minimum); Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  2. Experience in variety of sports is desirable whether as player, coach or official
  3. Experience managing multiple responsibilities and willing to work an irregular schedule
