Description
Position Purpose:
To provide a welcoming, professional presence and contact with all who visit the office of St. Henry Catholic Church or who call by telephone. To greet them and direct them to the appropriate area/person. To contribute substantially to an orderly operation of the parish’s affairs by conducting duties such as, but not limited to parish database maintenance, keeping of sacramental records, and parish calendar.
* Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals, or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese, such that can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. It is required that this employee be an active, participating Roman Catholic.
Qualifications
- High school graduate (or GED) required; Some post-secondary education or experience in administration required.
- Successfully complete required background check, Virtus training and signed code of conduct.
- Familiarity with Spanish language a plus.
- Experience in faith formation a plus.
- Demonstrated skills in giving direction and being welcoming and hospitable
- Strong computer skills especially Microsoft Word and internet communication.
- Proficient typing skills (50+ wpm).
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Strong PC computer skills including strong ability to work with MS Word, Excel and Publisher. MS Power Point and web based applications experience is a plus.
