Description

Reports to: Pastor
Schedule: Full-time non-exempt
Pay range: $20 – $24 /hr

The Director of Lifelong Discipleship and Evangelization collaborates closely with the Pastor, parish staff, and parish leadership to cultivate a parish culture in which encounter with Christ leads to ongoing conversion, formation, and missionary discipleship. This role integrates efforts
across all age groups, with emphasis on prayer, catechesis, and the proclamation of the Gospel in daily life. Rather than functioning solely as program administration, this position contributes to a cohesive pastoral strategy in which all ministries work together to form disciples who are
equipped and sent to share their faith within and beyond the parish community.

Primary Responsibilities
• Attend parish staff meetings and participate in collaborative pastoral planning with the Pastor and parish leadership
• Lead and develop lifelong discipleship and formation events for the parish under the direction of the Pastor and in collaboration with parish ministries
• Coordinate small group ministry, including training, supporting, and equipping small group leaders in effective disciple-making leadership
• Direct sacramental preparation program for Confirmation in collaboration with clergy and catechetical teams
• Lead and supervise parish youth ministry events, retreats, and mission trips, fostering intentional discipleship and faith formation for adolescents
• Serve as catechist and evangelist, actively supporting the parish’s mission of forming missionary disciples

Qualifications

Traits and Skills Required
• The candidate is a committed disciple of Jesus Christ who actively desires to proclaim the Gospel and support the Church’s mission of evangelization
• Must be an actively practicing Catholic in good standing who strives to live in fidelity to the teachings of the Church
• Demonstrated leadership ability with strong skills in organization, collaboration, and team development
• Ability to work effectively with clergy, parish staff, volunteers, families, and ministry leaders in a collaborative pastoral environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to form and lead others in discipleship and ministry contexts

• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, Catholic Studies, or a related field preferred; graduate degree and/or prior experience in parish or diocesan ministry strongly
preferred
