Full-Time 9-12 High School Mathematics Teacher-2026-2027 School Year
The role of a teacher at Unity Catholic High School is to provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge in their particular subject area so that they are prepared to succeed in their next phase post-graduation. Our curriculum is grounded in Catholic Identity and organized around the four pillars of our school: academics, virtue, leadership, and service. Each teacher is to take part in creating virtuous, clear-thinking Catholics committed to faithfully serving households, communities, parishes, and the common good.
Job Responsibilities:
- Planning and Preparation

- Demonstrate knowledge of content, teaching methods, and student development
- Prepare and teach lessons according to school standards and requirements
- Use the student information system, communication systems, planning and grade book systems to track and maintain appropriate information and records
- Build and maintain Curriculum for classes
- Creating an intentionally inviting classroom environment for learning

- Demonstrate respect and positive rapport with students
- Establish and maintain a healthy culture for learning
- Demonstrate efficient and effective management of student behavior
- Create a physical environment that is safe and conducive to optimal learning for the development of intellectual, personal, and spiritual character.
- Communications and Events

- Provide effective and timely communications for parents, students, and provide copies of the information to the head of school as requested.
- Attend required workshops, activities, meetings, and events as required that meet before/after school, evenings, and weekends.
- Participate in school fundraisers, activities, and events to the level of expectation as set by the head of school.
- Demonstrate efficacy in designing and implementing instruction

- Generate and utilize data to inform/adjust instruction
- Use effective question/discussion techniques
- Meeting the individual needs of students, providing timely and meaningful feedback
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism

- Participate in training programs as required
- Demonstrate reflective practice and set goals for improvement
- Maintain accurate records and communicate concerns and positives with families in a timely and effective manner
- Contribute to the success of the school community and model what it means to be a professional educator through service to students, advocacy for best practices, collegiality, teamwork, and decision-making
- Be on site by 7:30 a.m. and after school until 3:15 p.m.
- Fulfill all other assigned duties as outlined in the faculty and student policy handbooks or those assigned by your supervisor or the Head of School.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Fully share the Catholic mission and vision of Unity Catholic High School
- Demonstrate joy in working with students in a faith-filled Catholic environment
- Hold a B.S. or higher level degree in a Mathematics field
- Have a strong work ethic and a commitment to the success of our school
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
- Demonstrate the ability to tailor instruction to meet the needs of individual students
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate as a team with other teachers
- Demonstrate rapport and professionalism in working with parents
