Description
Due to retirement, Holy Childhood parish is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of
Sacred Music to provide a liturgical music program in accordance with the Catholic tradition.
The Director of Sacred Music will oversee all aspects of the music program, including: choir
direction, liturgical music selection, accompanying liturgies: weekend Masses, Holy Days,
weddings, funerals and training cantors; and planning liturgies as directed by the Pastor.

Start Date: August 1, 2025
Status: Exempt - Part-time - Creative Professional - No Benefits
Report to: Pastor
Provides work direction to: Cantors, Choir, Musicians
Receives work direction from: Pastor, Parish Director
Hours hired to work: approximately 10 hours per week
Salary: $40-$50/hour, additional stipend of $175 per funeral/wedding Mass
Main Responsibilities:
- To be the Principal Organist at Parish Liturgies (Saturday 5pm, Sunday 9:15am Masses)
- To direct the Schola Cantorum
- To plan the music for Mass, schedule cantors, create the weekly worship aid
Qualifications
Qualifications
● Professional musical training in performance and/or direction of church music.
● Competent Organist
● Understanding of the theology practices and worship of the Roman Catholic Church.
● Familiarity with Church documents such as Sacred Music and General Instruction of the
Roman Missal.
● Display leadership ability to inspire, lead and sustain interest of choir members &
cantors.
● Demonstrate organizational skills.
● Willingness to support the mission of Holy Childhood Parish
