Description

As the Associate Vice President for Advancement (AVPA), you will closely collaborate with the Vice President for Advancement & Legal (VPAL) to lead SPO’s Advancement Team in its missionary fundraising efforts. In this role, you will take primary responsibility for developing and overseeing the implementation of SPO’s major giving and mid-level giving strategies, personally engaging with SPO’s top donors. Additionally, you will collaborate with SPO’s Director of Events and oversee SPO’s Planned Giving efforts. At SPO, our vision for fundraising is to be on mission to our donors, meaning you will lead your team to initiate and steward meaningful, long-term relationships that invite donors into a deeper life of faith through the sharing of the hope of the Gospel, the fruitfulness of SPO’s mission, and inviting them to prayerfully consider transformational gifts. Our top priority is the donor’s encounter with Jesus Christ through the mission of SPO and the relationships we develop.

  • As someone ministering to and leading others in the Catholic tradition, the incumbent should be a practicing Catholic in good standing, passionate about the work of evangelization and discipleship.

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically, organize goals, prioritize, and deliver results

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience and demonstrated success in fundraising (or sales)
  • Other Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
    • Prior experience with SPO is preferred
    • Strong leadership and management experience preferred
    • Aptitude for utilizing databases is preferred
    • Strong business acumen is preferred
