Description
The Saint Ambrose Evangelization & Discipleship Summer Intern is an hourly paid position on the Evangelization & Discipleship team. This person will serve during the summer and assist with the various events, activities, and day to day operations of the Evangelization & Discipleship team. The intern will also be led through formation relating to working for the Church and serving in ministry.
Responsibilities:
· Carry out all assignments outlined by any member of the Evangelization & Discipleship Team
· Assist with events throughout the summer, including but not limited to:
o Totus Tuus
o Extreme Faith Camp
o High School Summer Trips (Steubenville, Retreats, Mission Trips, Camping Trips, etc)
o Weekly Encounter Nights at the Parish
o Small Group Ministry
· Take on administrative duties related to these events, under the supervision of a member of the Evangelization and Discipleship Team
· Communicate effectively with parents, volunteers, or other members of the Parish
· Be open to use other gifts as needed (i.e. Leading worship, giving talks, leading small groups, 1:1 ministry)
These responsibilities can be tailored to the specific interests of the individual, especially considering the area of ministry they might be interested in pursuing in the future.
Formation:
· Meet one on one weekly with a member of the Evangelization & Discipleship Team
· Do all reading, prayer, and prep work for these one on one meetings as assigned by the mentor.
· Maintain a personal prayer life and seek out opportunities to grow spiritually
Again, this formation will be tailored to the intern’s specific interests by the mentor. The mentor will remain the same throughout the summer, even as direct supervision may change based on event schedules.
This is a paid internship, and can also be used for credit at a college of university.
Compensation: $17.00/hr up to 40 hrs per week – exceptions are camp and other trips
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferably a current college/university student in the process of earning a degree in theology, divinity, youth work, or similar.
