Description
The Strength and Conditioning Coordinator is responsible for guiding, implementing, and managing the BSM strength and conditioning program, and in partnership with coaches and moderators, provides BSM students with opportunities to improve their physical and mental well-being through on-campus programing.
This is a flexible, year-round position that is dedicated to supporting all BSM students, and includes program design, direct instruction, supervision, and collaboration with coaches and moderators.
A typical schedule would include morning and afternoon training during the school year, and a summer program over the summer break.
- Seasonal or annual stipend, depending upon availability
- Seasonal stipend: $4,000-$8,750
- Start date: Summer 2026
Except in the teaching of religion, it is not an essential prerequisite that all employees be Catholic. However, all employees are expected to respect the teaching of the Church. As a leader, ensure that all areas of responsibility are operated consistent with the Catholic mission of the school. Key Responsibilities:
● Unified strength and conditioning model.
● All athletic programs will coordinate with the strength and conditioning coordinator for in-season and off-season training needs.
● Build consistent, safe, and appropriate programs
● Program design
● Create sport-specific and athlete-specific training plans (freshmen through varsity)
● Emphasize long-term development, injury prevention, and overall wellness.
● Summer program
● Design and manage the BSM summer strength and conditioning program.
● Schedule, staff, and instruct to ensure training success.
● Additional duties and responsibilities
● Weight room upkeep. Maintain all equipment and ensure safety standards and best practices are followed.
● Data tracking. Track BSM student progress and participation across programs, providing coaches with reports, insights, and feedback.
● Community engagement. Support students across athletics and activities programs, ensuring the engagement occurs across the student body (i.e. dance, intramurals, general fitness, etc.)
● Athletic team support. Work closely with the athletic trainers and athletics department staff and coaches to monitor return-to-play protocols and injury prevention practices.
Qualifications
Required Skills and qualifications:
● Maintain appropriate certifications, such as CSCS or USAW, and CPR.
● Strong written and oral communication skills; along with strong public speaking.
● A strong working knowledge in teaching proper techniques of strength and conditioning programs.
● Efficient and organized work strategies.
● Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines; results oriented.
● Commitment to BSM mission and values.
Education/ Experience (Minimum Required):
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
● 3+ years of experience in personal training or working for an organization that provides training/fitness services. Working in a high school, or with students is a plus.
● Commitment to professional development through continuous learning.
● Discretion and good judgment in handling sensitive and/or confidential information and situations.
