Part-Time School Lunch Coordinator
The School Lunch Coordinators will support the mission of Our Lady of Grace Parish and School – making Jesus Christ known and loved through the oversight of the combined school/parish kitchen, as well as leading the service of the school lunch program.
The position is responsible in assisting in preparation and serving meals to students. Meals are catered into the school; preparation requires receiving food from a third party lunch service vendor, following appropriate preparation instructions to ensure food maintains proper temperature and is ready to serve for lunch. The server position shift hours are slightly staggered from either 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM or 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (20 hours per week) on days when school is in session to accommodate multiple lunch periods. The Coordinators will work as a team and are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary kitchen and dining hall. The Coordinators carry out their work professionally and with a spirit of initiative and collaboration, creating an environment of confidence and respect.
The Lunch Coordinators will also assist in the maintaining of the overall environment of the shared kitchen, keeping necessary supplies in stock and maintaining a clean and safe environment. They will also be responsible for tracking school lunch demand via Point of Sale (POS) software as well as reviewing demand trends to help make informed ordering decisions via an accurate forecast with the lunch service vendor.
Job Qualifications: • High school graduate or GED • Must be 18 years old • Previous experience servicing food preferred • Experience working with software (basic POS system, Excel spreadsheets) • Experience working with children in a school environment preferred • Model a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ and be a Christian role model in speech, actions and attitudes which contribute to the spiritual atmosphere of the school • Ability to use kitchen and cleaning equipment • Commitment to a safe and caring environment for children • Ability to take initiative, but also take direction • Be present, ready to work and on time for all scheduled hours • Meet and comply with all OPCY requirements
