Position Title: Extended Day Child Care Aide
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Hours vary but are generally scheduled between 6:00 – 8:30 AM and 2:30 – 6:00 PM during the school year and between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM during summer months and non- school days.
Reports to: Extended Day Director

Receives work direction from: Extended Day Director
Job Purpose: Provide care to Holy Spirit students enrolled in its school age care program in a manner consistent with the mission of the parish and school ministry.
General Responsibilities: Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner which is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese. Such behavior can embarrass the Church or give rise to scandal. This position does not require that the employee be Catholic. It is expected that all employees respect Catholic doctrine and religious practices. Reasonable accommodation for the religious practice of employees not of the Roman Catholic faith will similarly be provided.
*Helps to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children by following health and safety guidelines and procedures.
*Under the direction of the Director, implement curriculum, and daily schedule that allows children to experience positive interactions and experiences.
*Encourage the development of appropriate values and social skills to children through planned curriculum, modeling and positive reinforcement.
*Help supervise age appropriate field trips and special events.
*Communicate effectively with extended day staff, school personnel, children and their parents.
* Help orient new children and parents to the program.
* Is present, ready to work and on time for all scheduled hours.
Takes direction from Extended Day Director.
Help maintain accurate attendance records.

Experience working with young children.
18+ years old
Knows and implements emergency procedures when needed.
Ability to set priorities effectively.
Ability to manage information obtained from students, staff and parents.
Be able to stand for long periods of time.
Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Able to move in and out of a variety of positions (on floor, standing, sitting on small chairs, etc.)
Knowing appropriate physical boundaries.
