Full-Time Coordinator of Children’s Ministries

Job Description

The Coordinator of Children’s Ministries will oversee all programs for our children from birth to fifth grade. It is a 30 per week position for 10 months of the year. The specific responsibilities include:
• Responsible for implementation and on-site management of the elementary age faith formation program requiring approximately 21 Tuesday evenings during the school year
• Design and manage the annual summer Vacation Bible School program
• Coordinate all children’s programs for Sunday mornings including the preschool Mustard Seed program, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, and the nursery
• Envision and implement Family Home ministry for families who choose elementary faith formation at-home. Will require monthly Sunday evenings seven times during the school year
• Develop relationships with students, parents, catechists, and other volunteers to encourage passion and growth in their faith. Encourage and inspire these individuals to bring forth their gifts and talents within a team approach to their ministry
• Recruits, trains, supervises, and supports adult and teen volunteers
• Provides continuous and needed communication with volunteers
• Coordinates schedule, lesson plans, materials, class lists for volunteers and records attendance
• Customize learning needed for individual programs
• Finds suitable materials that can be sent home as a supplement for the families
• When requested, evaluates programs with Director of Religious Education
• Ensure compliance with all parish and Archdiocesan policies, procedures, and schedules
• Maintains a professional relationship with the larger church community including attendance at Archdiocesan trainings and events
• Participate in staff meetings and functions

Job Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in theology, Religious Education, or education is required • A minimum of three years of experience in faith formation or teaching children • Ability to relate well with children of all ages and adults • Enjoy working with children and show a caring heart • Availability to work weekends and evenings • Successfully complete all current Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements
