Overview
Maternity of Mary Parish is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled Youth Minister to invite the young people of our parish and school into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Rooted in relational ministry, this role is ideal for someone who loves walking with young people, meeting them where they are, and helping them grow in faith, belonging, and purpose.
The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for youth and a desire to see them well-formed in their Catholic identity. The Youth Minister will oversee our faith formation program and lead our youth ministry initiatives, creating welcoming environments where young people encounter Christ, build authentic community, and grow as missionary disciples who serve others.
This is a flexible role with significant opportunity to shape the position around your unique gifts and passions. Opportunities may include coaching school sports teams, collaborating with our ARISE! musical theater program, and leading or participating in a variety of retreat experiences.
This role is a part-time position, but we are open to making this a full-time position for the right candidate.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of Catholic teachings, liturgy, and sacramental preparation.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to connect with youth, parents, and volunteers.
- Proficiency in social media and communication tools for ministry promotion.
- Ability to lead and accompany youth in faith formation experiences, including retreats, conferences, and service opportunities
Physical and Mental Demands
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support parish, school, and ministry events. Especially Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings.
- Ability to travel and participate in overnight ministry experiences such as camps, conferences, and retreats (e.g., Extreme Faith Camp)
- Capability to lift and transport materials for events and activities (up to 25 pounds).
- Maintain energy and enthusiasm during retreats, camps, and other extended ministry events.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, willing to model and support the mission of Catholic education
- Currently studying for or holds a bachelor’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in youth or young adult ministry, including retreat leadership.
- Experience working with middle school students in a catechetical or school setting.
