Position Overview

The overarching goal of CSCOE’s Vice President for Educational Excellence is to support Catholic elementary school principals in their efforts to enhance and strengthen the educational excellence in their schools. In this critical role, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing all excellence initiatives; working with school leaders, CSCOE staff and other partners to enhance current initiatives as well as develop new ones that creatively respond to challenges and opportunities identified by school leaders that can then be scaled to benefit multiple schools

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee the work and supervise all Directors in the excellence department, including STEM, Whole Child, and Literacy.
  • Work collaboratively with the Directors and their teams to ensure that CSCOE initiatives are of the highest quality, meet the identified needs of schools and principals, and are regularly evaluated for effectiveness and impact.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the principals of the schools we serve, continually seeking their input and insights, providing support and resources as needed.
  • Collaborate with principals in the development of initiatives to ensure alignment with the needs of school leaders and their programs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Catholic school and diocesan leaders, vendors, board members, donors and other partners who contribute to the success and vitality of CSCOE and the schools it serves.
  • Work collaboratively with the Directors, CFO and President to craft the annual excellence budget.
  • Provide effective financial oversight and control over areas of direct responsibility.
  • Ensure that CSCOE can demonstrate the effectiveness of its initiatives by overseeing the collection, aggregation, analysis and reporting of appropriate data.
  • Support the efforts and work collaboratively with the brand and advancement teams in developing compelling communications and outstanding events that advance the mission of CSCOE and the schools we support.
  • Serve as a member of CSCOE’s leadership team, supporting the efforts of the President and Board of Directors, particularly in the areas of academics, strategic planning, and organizational management.
  • Serve as the liaison to the dioceses and their superintendents.
  • Accomplish other duties as may be assigned by the President.

Working Conditions

  • Conveniently located Edina office with up-to-date technology.
  • A supportive and inclusive culture that promotes employee well-being, satisfaction, and productivity.
  • Passionate, collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Independent, self-directed work style encouraged.
  • Primarily standard business hours with occasional meetings and events occurring outside normal business hours.
  • Domestic travel (Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota) as needed.

CSCOE exists to advance excellence and enrollment in all Catholic elementary schools in Minnesota. Accordingly, CSCOE’s Vice President for Educational Excellence must be familiar with and work collaboratively with the individual schools that comprise this network and thus may require a substantial amount of local travel. The nature of the organization will also require the incumbent to be flexible in terms of working hours to accommodate evening and weekend meetings and events.
