Technology Teacher

Shakopee Area Catholic School is seeking a highly-skilled technology teacher.  This part-time position will guide and challenge students in subject matter and skills in a manner consistent to our Saints Joachim and Anne and Shakopee Area Catholic School Mission Statements. This is a part-time 20 hours/week, 10-month position.

Building on the tradition of the Shakopee Catholic Community, the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne exists to passionately lead people to Jesus Christ and sacramental life in the Catholic Church.  The campus includes three (3) church facilities and the school campus for Shakopee Area Catholic School (SACS) and 3 cemeteries. SACS was established in 1970 as a consolidation of the three Catholic Parishes of Shakopee. In 2014, Shakopee Area Catholic School officially became the parish school of Saints Joachim and Anne of Shakopee. SACS is a school of about 600 students in grades PreK to 8 with nearly 100 caring staff members.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a Minnesota certification. Teachers must hold licensure in their area. A copy must be filed in the school office.
• All teachers are required to have the required number of renewal credits per five-year teaching period for certificate renewal as state law mandates. All teaching certificates must be current.
• Teachers are expected to provide any other information/requirements necessary to renew certificates.
• Appropriate educational experiences
• Prepare written lesson plans including learning goals, instructional methods and resource materials.
• Able to pass a required background check and complete required initial training.
• It is preferred for this position that the employee be Catholic.
