Spanish Teacher

Chesterton Academy of the St. Croix Valley, a joyful, classical high school taught in the Catholic tradition seeks a talented and dynamic part-time high school Spanish teacher to join our team for the 2024-25 academic year.

We are seeking a versatile teacher whose love of Spanish and Language is matched by their love of teaching and forming high school students in the Catholic faith. Teachers must have a passion for a Catholic liberal arts education and must be able to lead a dialectically driven classroom.

Every student at Chesterton Academy takes four years of language, two years of Latin and two years of Spanish. Language plays a crucial integrating role in the Chesterton Academy curriculum blending elements of reason and faith.

A bachelor’s degree in language or the liberal arts field is preferred.

Two to five years of previous teaching experience is preferred. Passion for Catholic, classical education is necessary.

The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise.

In addition to their teaching and administrative responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academy participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and to help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are required to attend daily Mass with the entire student body and participate in spiritual retreats or other school activities.

This is a part-time job, teaching about 6 classes per week. Depending on skill, a full-time role could be explored.
