Description

We are seeking a passionate and energetic School Age Care Teacher to inspire and support children during after-school hours, school holidays, and special programs. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your enthusiasm for working with children and your dedication to childhood development will help foster a positive atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and growth. Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, social skills, and physical development for school-age children
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
  • Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
  • Support children’s individual needs by incorporating special education strategies when necessary
  • Foster a welcoming environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and inclusivity among children of diverse backgrounds
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and school staff to communicate progress and address any concerns
  • Lead activities such as homework help, gym games, and arts and crafts to enrich the children's experience.
  • Requirements
    • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable
    • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and childhood development principles
    • Certification in first aid and CPR required or willing to obtain upon hire
    • Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and early childhood education best practices
    • Ability to work effectively with children of various ages and developmental stages
    • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
    • Passion for nurturing children’s growth through creative activities like theater or sports coaching is a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Hours: 7am-9am and 3pm-6pm, Monday-Friday

 

Qualifications

Requirements: 2 Years of post education (preferred) or child care experience
