Description

Welcome to Ave Maria Academy

Ave Maria Academy is seeking a joyful and faith-filled Catholic music teacher to join our faculty. This is a part-time, hourly position responsible for providing music instruction to students in preschool through fourth grade.

This position also offers the opportunity to work alongside our current teacher during the spring term to become familiar with the music program and instructional approach at Ave Maria Academy. Independent teaching responsibilities will begin in the 2026–2027 school year.

The Preschool-4th Grade Music Teacher first and foremost supports the mission of Ave Maria Academy to form young minds, hearts and souls to love Jesus Christ. Music instruction at Ave Maria Academy focuses primarily on the development of singing, but it also includes moving to music, playing instruments, and developing music reading and listening skills.

The Preschool-4th Grade Music Teacher works closely with the 5th-8th Grade Music Teacher to prepare, coordinate, and execute three musical performances each year. As the music curriculum at Ave Maria Academy is primarily focused on vocal instruction and performance, the ideal candidate will, therefore, possess a strong background in voice.
