Description

Our Lady of Grace Catholic School is seeking a warm, dependable, and energetic individual to join our Preschool After School Care team. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a caring, faith-filled school community. In this role, you will help provide a safe, nurturing, and joyful end-of-day environment for our preschool students as they transition from the school day into after care.

The ideal candidate is patient, playful, attentive, and flexible, with a genuine love for young children and an understanding of the importance of helping each child feel safe, valued, and cared for. This position is a great fit for college students, parents, retirees, or anyone interested in gaining experience in early childhood education.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise and care for preschool-aged children during after school hours
  • Create a calm, safe, and welcoming environment at the end of the school day
  • Engage children in age-appropriate play, activities, and quiet choices
  • Support children with daily routines, including bathroom needs, handwashing, snack, and cleanup
  • Help children transition smoothly from the classroom to after care
  • Use positive guidance and redirection to support safe and respectful behavior
  • Communicate warmly and professionally with families during pickup
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting after care space
    Work collaboratively with after care staff and preschool team members
  • Follow all school safety procedures and childcare expectations

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • College degree preferred but not required
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred, but not required
  • Positive, patient, nurturing, and dependable approach when working with young children
  • Comfortable supporting preschool students with daily routines, transitions, and self-help needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with children, families, and coworkers
  • Must complete required background check, Code of Conduct, and VIRTUS training
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days of employment
  • Must complete any additional required pre-employment or licensing trainings
